I don't understand why I have so many clothes. It does not take that long to wash them, especially when the house-elves do it. Two school uniforms and two sets of pyjamas and two sets of casual clothes and one set of dress robes. Probably... three pairs of underwear and four pairs of socks, to be safe. That's all I need. So why do I get given so many new ones for Christmas? These haven't worn out yet.

I've decided I don't like eating scraps. I could smell that chicken pie all through dinner but it was all gone by the time we were fed.

I don't think punishing people who didn't do anything is a very effective way of making people behave. It makes me feel like it doesn't matter if I try and do what they want or not.
